After struggling to get it work, finally, I got it. At first, I got Aztech 305e ADSL modem last year. From the manual I?ve got, it can be a router too. The problem I faced after that was, it can?t forward the port from external network to internal network or LAN host and DMZ too.
I looked into the internet for any solution. Everybody has the same problem including the users in Malaysia. Others, use new kind of router device and bridged it to the modem. I kept ask Aztech via e-mail and sadly, they said their product don?t have any problem with port forwarding and DMZ. Using PC as a router also has a problem with outside attack.

I have a new kind of way to solve this problem using a PC and a software called SmoothWall.

Requirement: I use 200MMX PC and a small space harddisk. You also need 2 network cards. You can get Smoothwall by downloading it at http://www.smoothwall.org .

STEP A: Boot the pc with SmoothWall CD. Hope you can do that. Any installation after booting needs to be done by reading the manual. I?m not specifying it in this article.

STEP B:

1.Before you finish, the installation will bring you to ?Section Menu? to configure your machine. If you miss this or don?t know what to do, just set it what ever you want and reboot it.

2. After rebooting and login in to it, type ?setup? and ?section menu? will start.

3. At this stage, you need to setup the modem. Go to ?networking? > ?network configuration type?. What ever you choose, you must have RED and GREEN for the machine. Sometimes, GREEN have been configured at STEP A. Quit from the menu after finish.

4. Go to ?drivers and cards assignment? to configure the second network card as RED. This one will connect with AZTECH modem. Quit from the menu after finish.

5. Go to ?address setting? to configure RED for modem connection by set it to ?PPPOE?. Quit from the menu after finish.

6. You done.

STEP C:

1. To make sure all ok, restart the machine.

2. Connect the network cable to LAN. Make sure it has a good connection to it. I don?t show how to troubleshoot it.

3. Then you need to control the machine via web including configure the internet account login. Any configuration need to be done at other host by accessing this URL, https://your.smoothwall.ip:441

4. The first page should show the control menu for the modem if you configure it right at the first place. (Display the name of the profile)

5. Go to ?networking? > ?ppp setting? to configure the internet account.

6. The important thing at this stage is, the interface (PPPOE, if you use pppoe), username, password and DNS server ip. Sometimes, you need to give a name for this profile and ?dial up in Demand?. Don?t forget to save it.

7. Go back to the first page, and make the connection to the internet. If there is no problem, you will hear a beep. Make sure your client is set correctly.

Maybe my explaination not very good. So, feel free to ask me.
