Hi, just now, I finished writing a little script to properly open the Wifi AP location in Google Map. I called it WiFiLocator. Maybe I am so foolish and a bad programmer, but it is a small steps for me to learn Google Map API ver 3 and PHP programming in hard and dirty way. Any suggestions, please forward to me webmaster[a]garagebox.org .

Kisgearth and Mapping update. PDF Print E-mail

After a week, we finally have a simple AP mapping in Google Map. We took about 3 days just to figure out about Google Map API and write the program. At this stage, we found out the Google Map API is already upgrade to version 3. It is pretty cool because Google wants to have a fast loading map not only in PC but also in mobile phone. So, we think the browser now can sense the GPS for itself.

We also found that the API is not require any API key and the java script is pretty simple. It is really straight forward programming.

So, what we have done now?

  1. To add several option for kisgearth. - add network color option only.
  2. Fix an issue on special character such as "&", "#" etc in xml data. - Not solve yet. Can we revise the perl script?
  3. Embed with Google Map. Simple but we keep learning.
  4. List of free AP in hotel. Reference for travelers.
  5. Mapping with option & paramater. API-like-parameter. - Done with encryption mode filter.
  6. And many more.
